The best things aren't free.

A popular saying tells us "the best things in life are free." I want to challenge that statement...but first...
Free: 11. "provided without, or not subject to, a charge or payment."
Charge: 26. "expense or cost."
Payment: 1. "something that is paid; an amount paid; compensation; recompense."
Cost: 2. "an outlay or expenditure of money, time, labor, trouble, etc."
Taking this into account, the best things in life are not free...they may not require money but they are far from being without cost.
Relationships with family...friends...those you love, they are some of the most precious things in life...but the cost is great. It requires a ton of time, a whole lot of effort, and even a bit of sacrifice. They require that you give up your your pride, your arrogance, and your self. Sometimes it may not be fun or enjoyable to put yourself in someone elses shoes...to forgive...to overlook mistakes...to do the right thing in spite of your "want to." But as another saying goes,"anything worth doing is worth doing right."

A good marriage, a strong relationship with your spouse, your kids, your parents. A strong family...it will always cost you something....and it is always worth it. The same goes for strong friendships...good health...solid walk with God. Everything worth having is going to require something from you. Even the absolute best thing in life...salvation... cost more than we can ever understand. So yes...the best things in life may not require money...but they are far from free. Perhaps a better saying would be "the best things in life are the ones money cant buy."

A new direction

So...I have decided to resurrect this blog. it's not going to be as much of a photo blog as it was (though ill still be posting photos). Hopfully it will be something worth looking at.

Just a taste of fall...more to come!

I know this isn't a lot but my computer is not wanting to cooperate...but ill put up more later :)

Update...FYI

Sorry there havent been any photos. I promise there will be more up soon.

I also wanted to say that i am going to be starting a second blog on blogspot. Once it becomes official i will post a link both here, and on facebook.
This second blog will be more for writing, journaling, etc. I already have a journal/writing blog on another blogging site but i want everything to be in one place.

hopefully i will have something up by the end of the week, both the new blog, and photos!

Photo Blog

Im going to be starting a photo blog soon. . . as soon as finals are over most likely. I just thought i'd try to get things started and prepared ahead of time! This is going to be the start of several photography projects that i have been wanting to do for some time. What this will be (at the beginning anyways) is a daily blog where every day i will take and post a picture. There are many reasons I'm doing this but the main ones are that it will help me hone my skills, it will build my portfolio, and it will also help me get some projects started. I hope you all enjoy and please feel free to comment!
